ST Brides made an impressive start to the new season when they recorded a comfortabl­e victory over Oliver Plunketts.

The Knockbridg­e side took a grip on proceeding­s in an opening half that saw them find the net twice to ensure they went in at the break with a 2-2 to 0-2 lead. Two frees from Cian Brady accounted for the Plunketts scores in that half.

It didn’t get any better for the Drogheda men in the second half as the Brides continued to dominate and they added a further 13 points to their tally to ensure they made their way back down the motorway with victory.
