High-flyers face off in crunch tie
PACESETTERS Greyhound and Carranstown meet this Friday in the Fosters Duleek & District League’s final round of matches to decide who progresses straight to the Premier Division decider.
The losers will have to make their way through the knockout stages along with fellow qualifiers Sally Inn and Mariner.
The latter’s place was secured without playing a match as scheduled penultimate-round opponents Lantern Lounge conceded a walkover.
Matthews and Maguires are safely through to the knockout stages in Division 1, but four other teams are still in contention for the remaining two places going into the final round of games.
Thatch C, Foxs and Grennans are guaranteed top-four spots in Division 2 and will be joined by either Valley Inn or Lynchs, while it’s all still to play for in Division 3 where there are still two rounds remaining. 3, Greyhound 5.
