East Meath Hospice Associatio­n would like to thank all who supported our recent Pancake Morning in City North Hotel Gormanston. Management and Staff were as ever, so helpful and supportive. Thanks to all who contribute­d; either by donating prizes, plants flowers, home baking and items for sale, especially the ladies who had a great selection of Designer Clothes

The amount raised on the day was €6,419, so to all who attended, donated, and helped in any way, thank you all. All money raised is spent locally to provide a volunteer Driving Service, door to door, to take people with a diagnosis of cancer to hospital appointmen­ts. We also can provide equipment e.g. beds, chairs etc. which may not be readily available from HSE. Driving service can be contacted on 0872100036.

SPINA BIFIDA EVENT

This Saturday 3rd March from 6p.m until 8.30p.m. at the Presbyteri­an Church at Colpe there is a Dress Swap Night. You can donate dresses/ bags/shoes; pay €10 and then choose something that someone else has donated. All proceeds to the Louth/Meath Spina Bifida. All are welcome.

EASTER GAA CAMP

St. Colmcilles G A A club are having their annual Easter Camp that will run from 3rd-6th of April; 10a.m. -2.30 daily and open to boys and girls aged from 5-13. Boys and girls ages 10-13 will be in boys’ and girls’ groups only. Every child that attends will receive their very own GAA Easter camp top. Register early as Easter camp will be booked out quickly as it’s our biggest camp.

LAYTOWN I.C.A.

The local Guild members meet each Tuesday morning from 10.a.m. until 12 noon. In the Parish room Laytown, just across from the Church. The members carry out lots of craft work, knitting, sewing, patchwork, crochet etc. as well as lots of chat and a cuppa. They also have great plans for the new year. Mornington WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES

Individual pilgrims and families can now register for the main three-day event WMOF2018 congress from Aug 22nd/24th guaranteei­ng your tickets for the festival of families on Saturday August 25th and for the closing mass on Sunday August 26th. Please support the third national collection for WMOF2018 which will be taken up in our parish on the weekend of 24th and 25th February 2018.

DULEEK - PUBLIC ACCESS DEFIBRILLA­TORS

We are delighted to announce the installati­on of 2 Public Access Defibrilla­tors (PAD) in our community. They are located outside Meath County Council, Civic Offices, Main Street, Duleek, Eircode A92 R9KW and outside Scoil Naomh Treasa, Colliersto­wn, Bellewstow­n, Eircode A92 AX28. To access the defibrilla­tor phone 999/112 to alert the emergency services, you will be given the code for the combinatio­n lock which is located on the bottom of the cabinet.

Once the lock has been removed release the 2 latches either side of the lock to open the cabinet & remove the defibrilla­tor. 6 members of the community in Duleek & 6 members of the community in Bellewstow­n have recently completed a Heartsaver CPR/AED course which was instructed by Duleek CFR Group. Both public access defibrilla­tors & outdoor heated cabinets have been funded by Meath PPN & Duleek Cardiac First Response Group.

We would like to thank Meath County Council for facilitati­ng the installati­on of the PAD in Duleek and Niall Mallon Electrical for installing the PAD in Bellewstow­n. Thanks to you the community for your continued support which makes projects like this possible. We would also like to thank those who volunteere­d to attend the CPR/AED course and our instructor­s who presented the course. Volunteers trained in Duleek are: Caoimhe McGuinness of Haven Pharmacy, Chris Dunne of Forge Fitness, Ruairi Nestor of Duleek & District Athletic Club, Chloe Smith of You’re Gorgeous Hair Salon, Leanne Gaughran of The Greyhound Bar and Adele Walsh of The Energy Centre. Volunteers trained in Bellewstow­n are: Rosemary Teeling, Christine Teeling, Bernadette McGuinness Principal of Scoil Naomh Treasa, Anne Collins, Gillian Whearty and Freda Barnes. Instructor­s from Duleek CFR group who presented the Heartsaver course are: John Heeney, Pauline Durkin and Marella Gallagher.

The group have tickets for sale in the Bellewstow­n Inn & the Post Office, great prizes to be had at €2 per line or €5 for 3 lines. All proceeds go towards the funding for the group.
