Coast guard two calls
Drogheda Coastguard were called to provide assistance to two incidents on the River Boyne last Wednesday. The first involved a call about a woman who was on the wrong side of the railings at Bru restaurant. Gardaí managed to remove the lady before she could enter the river.
The second call related to an elderly lady who was missing and was thought to have entered the river. The DCG boat team located a female in the water at Donors Green area of the river, brought her on board and began CPR. The woman was transferred to hospital but sadly passed away.
