MATTOCK RANGERS SEAN O’MAHONYS 3-12 0-7

MATTOCK Rangers claimed their second win of the season when they recorded an impressive victory over Sean O’Mahonys in Collon on Friday night.

The Group A game saw the hosts dominate for most of the hour and with the help of goals from Ben McKenna (2) and Brendan Leacy they had 14 points to spare in the end.

Mattock made their intentions clear from the outset as they took control of the game from the opening exchanges. Some good possession was turned into scores with the help of points from David Reid while McKenna and Leacy added a goal apiece to give their side a commanding 2-7 to 0-4 lead at the break.

A comeback never looked likely from the Dundalk men and they were only able to add a further three points to their tally.

At the other end Mattock continued to press and the victory was sealed when McKenna added his second goal of the night.

MATTOCK: Mike Englishby; Jack Dunne, Sean Gilsenan, Ben Markey; Brendan Leacy 1-1, Niall McKeown, Alan Caraher; Ryan Lenehan 0-1, Hugh Donnelly; Ben McKenna 2-0, Aaron O’Brien 0-2, David Reid 0-7 (4f); Terry Donegan, Adrian Reid 0-1, Michael McKeown.
