The Club held its annual St. Patrick’s day walk on Saturday morning with over 60 people taking part on the 5k walk in blustery (and freezing) conditions. Then on are return to the Granvue Hotel the kids got food and goodies followed by music by the Ceol Heads and fabulous Irish dancing display by Clarke School of Irish Dance.

Louth Sports Unit are running a Sports leadership award course on 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th of April at Dundalk Sports Centre. The course is aimed at club members aged between 14 and 16. Please see attached details on the course. Due to limited numbers, it will be strictly on a first come first served basis, with only two people per club. Anyone interested can message the club for more details.

IN the Paddy Sheelan Cup we lost to Newtown Blues 4-19 to 2-5 in round two and in the next round went down by three points to Naomh Fionnbarra.

Glen Emmets have linked up with AMS to offer cardiac screening sessions for players, members and everyone in the wider community. We would encourage as many as possible to attend.

The cost of this screening is €65 per person, which is fully or partially redeemable, depending on your health insurance provider. There is no financial benefit to the club - we are facilitati­ng the venue for the screening.

The Féile Peile na nÓg 2018 (Down, Louth, and Meath) Tournament will be played on June 29th, 30th and July 1st and we are delighted to be a host club, so let’s make this a HUGE success for our club and county!

Juvenile registrati­on was held in our clubrooms recently and it was brilliant to see such a great turnout. Our Juveniles enjoyed a very successful and FUN year in 2017 putting in a fantastic effort at training and blitzes. KNOCKBRIDG­E

OUR junior hurlers made it two wins from two with a good 2-14 to 1-15 league victory over Naomh Moninne in Darver last thursday. We led most of the way but a late Moninne goal left us hanging on at the end.

In underage hurling our U10s had a great win in the council seachtain na gaeilge cup competitio­n. Despite the wet conditions the young players played great hurling in defeating both Pearse Og and Naomh Moninne to take home a very impressive cup. The team included Donnacha Reidy, Aidan Fitzpatric­k, Ross Keenan, Tadhg Carroll, Maeve Quigley, Saebh McBride and Saoirse Darcy.

Finally our U12s took part in the last U12 blitz held in the Dkit. Our lads improved greatly with every match finishing up with a 5 4 win over Kileavy of Armagh. Kevin Plunkett was top scorer with 4 goals while Eoin Gallagher got 2 goals from defense. Ryan Holland pitched in with 2 goals as well as making some great saves. Another to impress was Tadhg Fitzgrald who played with great determinat­ion and some nice skills.

MILLMOUNTH­ANDBALL

THE club would like to congratula­te Martina McMahon from Limerick on her fantastic 12-21, 21-19, 21-20 over Catriona Casey from Cork in the All-Ireland 40x20 Ladies senior singles finals at Kingscourt handball club last Saturday, and congratula­tions also to Martin Mulkerrins from Galway on his 21-9, 21-11 victory over Charlie Shanks Armagh in the mens senior singles final.

The club will hold a committee meeting next Wednesday night at 7pm in the Pheasant function room all delegates are requested to please attend.

Our club fundraisin­g appeal is going very well if you have any unwanted clothes, handbags, belts, shoes, coats etc please put them into a bag bring them along to Coke hall reception or you can contact Maria on 0879821594 to arrange for collection.

More informatio­n on our eagerly awaited promotiona­l handball demonstrat­ion day will be posted after our meeting next Wednesday night. Our 40x20 training continue as usual at Gormanston sports complex transport departs the Pheasant car park at 6pm sharp.

We are seeking new adult and juvenile members to play handball at the club the fitness benefits of the game are vast, so if your up for the challenge come along to Coke community hall.

THERE was no jackpot winner in Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne’s Camogie Club Lotto draw held on Wednesday 14th March. The winning numbers were 3, 15, 16, & 18. Our Intermedia­te beat Glen Emmets in the 3rd round of the Paddy Sheelan Cup in Darver on Friday 16th March on a scoreline of 1-12(15) to 1-9(12).

The lads now play the following week in the 1st round of the Paddy Sheelan Shield, weather permitting , time and venue yet
