St. Columbans 3 Drogheda dominated early on, scoring two goals in the first ten minules through Kenneth Shevlin and Mark McHugh.

Columbans struck back wilh 15 minutes remaining after bad defensive play from the boys. Drogheda pressed forward a minute later and scored a well taken goal by striker supreme Ken Sullivan. Columbans would still not be denied and scored their second on the stroke of half time.

The second half saw Drogheda miss chance after chance and with 10 minules remaining Columbans equalised from a corner.

This was a match that Drogheda could and should have won. Players who performed well on the day were Mark McHugh, Colin Kierans and Ken Shevlin.
