Unique race and auction night in Nolan’s pub

-

SOME unique items will be on offer at a special race night and auction in Nolan’s pub on the Chord Road on Good Friday, March 30th, from 8.30pm.

The event is in aid of the Maria Goretti Foundation, who provide respite care for children with autism and those with physical and learning disabilities.

Organiser Paul Nolan has had a great response from the sporting world in providing items for the auction and raffle with the IRFU providing a jersey signed by the Six Nations Rugby Grand Slam winning panel, while many individual sports stars including Rory McIlroy, Padraig Harrington, Ruby Walsh, JP McManus, Des Smyth, Bernard Flynn and Gary Kelly have donated items.

Local golf clubs have provided fourballs and there are some other interesting items for auction including signed Dublin and Meath jerseys. Some of the auction items might be of special interest to pubs or clubs looking to display some sporting memorabilia.

A number of businesses and individuals have forwarded donations to Paul, including JP McManus who sent a cheque for €5,000, so it is hoped to raise a substantial amount for the foundation.

‘It should be a great night and we’d love to make up to €15,000,’ Paul stated.

One of the highlights will be the signed Irish jersey and tickets will be on sale for a raffle for that particular prize.

Following the Race Night and Auction there will be entertainment to end off the evening live
