There’s a league match for the Minor team this Friday at 5.30pm against O Raghallaig­h’s in Cusack Park.

For the third year we are hosting our 5k Fun run. It’s on Sunday 8th April at 2pm. It’s a great community day for the whole family! Buggies are welcome and you can register now on fitlive.ie.

Glen Emmets have linked up with AMS to offer cardiac screening sessions for players, members and all in the wider community. We would encourage as many as possible to attend. The cost of this screening is €65 per person, which is fully or partially redeemable, depending on your health insurance provider.

There is no financial benefit to the club, we are facilitati­ng the venue for the screening. Its on Saturday 14th April from 9.30am-5pm. Register your place on www.ameds.ie, click ‘online booking’ and enter Clinic code: GEGFC.

Numbers drawn in last Tuesday’s lotto were 5, 8, 18, 30, the lucky dip winners of €25 were Tracy Dawe, Micky & Tom, Harry Reilly and Joey Carolan. The jackpot is €4,400 for the draw this Tuesday night in The Morning Star, Tullyallen.

CONGRATS and very well done to Cian Byrne who managed to defeat all challenger­s in our juvenile Top Ace score competitio­n last week with an excellent top score of 16 Aces.

The club are delighted to announce an all stars handball players line up for our promotiona­l handball demonstrat­ion day. Ladies All-Ireland senior singles champion Martina Mc Mahon from Limerick, and also All-Ireland ladies intermedia­te singles champion Megan Mc Cann from Armagh will be the ladies line up, Mens All-Ireland intermedia­te singles champion David Hope from Offaly,and All-Ireland Minor singles champion Sean Kerr from Tyrone will be the mens line up. GAA Handball president Joe Masterson will also be attending on the day. The Venue for this top class event will take place at St Marys Diocesan School on Sunday 29 April at 2pm. This not to be missed event is free so come along and enjoy the fun. Refreshmen­ts will be served throughout the day, spot prizes, face painting etc. More informatio­n on this fabulous event will be posted shortly.

Our 40x20 training will continue at Gormanston sports complex for the next few weeks transport departs as usual from the Pheasant car park at 6pm.

A new schedule for our 60x30 Softball training at Kingscourt handball club will be announced shortly, any club players wishing to purchase new 60x30 handballs for their training can contact Niall Farrelly.

NAOMH FIONNBARRA

THERE was no jackpot winner in Naomh Fionnbarra G.F.C. and St. Anne’s Camogie Club Lotto draw held on Wednesday 21sth March. The winning numbers were 3, 4, 19, & 27. There were 2 match 3 winners Angela Reynolds, Clonmore, Maura Devlin, Boicetown who won €75 each. Next weeks jackpot stays at €10,000. Tickets are available from the usual local outlets, Lotto sellers and any committee member. The Naomh Fionnbarra Intermedia­te team lost to St. Fechins in the 1st Round of the Paddy Sheelan Shield in Beaulieu on Saturday 24th March on a scoreline of 4-14(26) to 2-10(16).

Due to the upcoming Louth v Meath re-fixture in the National League the 1st Round of Division 2 League v Kilkerley Emmets has been postponed.

The Louth ladies headed north today and managed to make it 5 wins out of 6 with a 2 points victory over Antrim.Full time score Antrim 0-06 Louth 0-08. The minors followed in their footsteps with a convincing 3-15 to 1-08 win against Offaly. Well done to all involved especially the Finbarrs players.

Naomh Fionnbarra/ Lannleire Feile team are holding a fundraiser Table quiz on Friday 13th of April at 8.30pm in the Grove Hotel Dunleer. This is in aid of the upcoming Feile weekend in June. Please help us and support this night. Thank you.

Naomh Fionnbarra Ladies are hosting a clother collection at Naomh Fionnbarra clubrooms at John Markey Park on April 13th 7:30-9:00pm and on April 14th 11:00am-1:00pm. Planning a wardrobe clear out or have some clothes away in the attic you need to get rid of?? Take it to our clothes collection day and help raise funds for our club.

Féile Peile na nÓg 2018 Very exciting year ahead for our U14/ U13 team!! The John West Féile Peile na nÓg 2018 tournament is being hosted by Down, Louth & Meath on the weekend of Friday 29th June – Sunday 1st July 2018 and our Club along with Lannleire will be hosting teams and games in our Parish watch out for further details soon .

We are hosting a Kellogs GAA Cúl Football and Hurling Camp again this year from Monday 30th July to Friday 3rd August. Online booking commences on 1st March.

NEWTOWN BLUES

THE Easter Camp takes place on April 3rd, 4th & 5th from 10am to 2pm for all boys and girls aged six to 14. The cost is €30 per child, and €50 per family for members. Pay on the morning of the camp.

Please ensure each child has a gumshield, football boots, water, lunch and rain gear.

All proceeds raised go towards the U-14 boys and girls Féile teams.

Well done to the U-16 boys who took on Wolfe Tones last Thursday in the first round of the league as the lads dusted off the cobwebs.

It was great to see great scores from both teams and luckily the Blues finished out on top in this encounter. There were plenty of missed opportunit­ies by the Blues lads but a great start to the league.

Training continues on Tuesday from 6.30-7.30pm. We hope to see you all then.

This week sees our U10, U11 and U12 teams back training. All new players are welcome.

Our annual juvenile awards night will take place on Friday 6th April at 7.30pm. Players, as well as their families, are all invited to attend.

We are working closely with Wolfe Tones GFC who have been selected to run a Gaelic 4 Girls programme. This is aimed at girls aged eight to 12 who have never played before and aims to give them all the basic skills they need to integrate into Gaelic football.

The programme will start on Wednesday April 11th from 7 to 8pm and run for eight weeks. All participan­ts will receive an official LGFA Gaelic for girls training t-shirt and will be eligible to play in a provincial blitz on June 16th.

The club would like to thank Darren Kelly, Brian Carter, Hugh Downey, Sean White, Tadgh Martin and Shàhìn for giving up their free time to promote the club on Saturday during the PR Day in Scotch Hall. We got talking to lots of people with a great interest in joining us in the club and we hope to see you all soon in the field.

Adult training continues this Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30 in the field, while our U-16s/Minors train on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Pitch lights on for walkers/runners on Mondays and Wednesdays 6.30-9pm.
