WAYNE REILLY made a welcome return to the Drumconrath colours and capped a fine display by scoring three points, including the winner from a 40 metre free, in this closely fought encounter in Boardsmill.
Boosted by a goal of the soft variety Boardsmill led by five points at one stage in the opening half. However Drumconrath finished the half strongly and three successive points from Tomás Conlon left it 1-6 to 0-7 at the break.
Drumconrath produced their best spell in the third quarter, scoring successive points from Patrick Farrelly (three), Reilly, Stephen Crosby and Gavin Finnegan. They led by four with 10 minutes remaining but had to rely on Reilly’s late intervention. DRUMCONRATH:
