No IDA site visits

-

DIRECTOR of Service Frank Pentony has told Cllr Richie Culhane that he was not aware of any IDA site visits to Drogheda last year. AT the recent meeting of Louth County Council, Cllr Culhane recalled suggesting that the local authority get in touch with the owners of the Coke Cola site. He wondered if any contact had been made with the new owner as the 29 acre site was lying there, ready to be redeveloped.

‘It’s an extremely valuable site and piece of infrastructure,’ he said, and he wondered if any discussions had taken place regarding its future,

Mr Pentony replied that the owners had contacted the council and there was a suggestion that it might be suitable for parking for the Fleadh.

‘We would include it in any discussions with the IDA,’ he said, adding that he will arrange to make contact with the owners again.

‘Has the IDA had any site visits in Drogheda in the past year?’ asked Cllr Culhane and Mr Pentony replied that he was not aware of any.
