Nash slams local taxi injustice

SENATOR Ged Nash has criticised the Minister for Transport Shane Ross for his refusal to support efforts to have the late Tommy Keegan’s taxi licence transferred to his widow, Marie.

The Drogheda Senator engaged the Independent Alliance Minister in a debate on the issue in the Seanad last Thursday.

“A failure by Tommy’s wife Marie to fill in a little known form when her late husband was still with us has meant that the taxi licence he has operated for many years has in effect now died with him. This is an outrageous situation and I demanded that the Minister becomes personally involved in this case in order to rectify this grave injustice.
