SKODA Ireland is delighted to announce that registration is now open for the final event of this year’s SKODA Celtic Cycle Series, the ‘ Tour de Boyne Valley’. The event is coming to Drogheda on Sunday 9th September, where cycling enthusiasts will have a chance to complete the Triple Crown of SKODA Celtic Cycle Series events.

Hosted by the Drogheda Wheelers CC in Drogheda the event promises to be a fantastic challenge for all levels, with over 1,000 cyclists expected. There are two route options available for cyclists – the first 105km and the second 155km. Both routes will bring cyclists along some of the best cycling roads in Louth and Meath, passing through the famous Boyne Valley. Cyclists will start from Western Motors in the M1 Industrial Estate and head out the coast road, heading north of Drogheda through Termonfeckin and the seaside summer resort of Clogherhead, before heading inland. The event also passes close to some of The Boyne Valley historic monuments, offering a great day out on the bike.

To ensure all cyclists are well looked after in advance of the cycle, Western Motors SKODA dealership in Drogheda will be hosting a preevent Pasta Party on Saturday 8th September. Participants will be able to sign in for the cycle at this time, collect their goody bag and enjoy their pre-race meal. In addition a dedicated bike mechanic will also be on site ensuring that all cyclist’s bikes are in perfect order for the challenge.

Speaking about the event, Simon Mc Cormack, Dealer Principal of Western Motors said: “We are delighted that this event will round off another successful SKODA Celtic Cycle Series. The North East possesses some great routes for cyclists and we hope all participants will enjoy the challenge. We also want to welcome all cyclists to Western Motors on Saturday 8th September, to collect their pre-race meal and ensure their bikes are in good working order. All of us here at Western Motors would like to wish all the cyclists the very best of luck.”

The SKODA Celtic Cycle Series will see over 5,000 cyclists take part in three different events this year. The series kicks off with the already sold out Tour de Connemara in May, followed by the Ring of Clare on 28th July. Registration for Tour de Boyne Valley can be done at www. tourdeboynevalley.ie.
