Value of NY visit queried

-

Independent councillor Maeve Yore queried the value of the recent trip by officials and elected representatives from Louth County Council to New York for the St Patrick’s Day Parade.

‘How much did the junket to New York cost,’ the Dundalk councillor asked at the Council’s monthly meeting , saying she also wanted to see concrete benefits like Louth being put on the itinerary of American tour companies and Louth companies getting contracts,

‘I want to see reports,’ she stated.

Head of Finance Ms Bernadette Woods said that funds for the trip are included in the budget every year.

Chairman, Cllr Colm Markey, who was among the delegation who travelled to New York, undertook to prepare a report for the next meeting.
