Sparks take top four spot

-

DROGHEDA Sparks U16s have booked their place in the top-4 Cup competition with a win in their final league game away to Cavan Lakers.

While Sparks were winning their game, Cavan Eagles, who had a similar league record, were losing their final game which was enough to see Sparks claim the final spot in the competition with a superior head to head record with Eagles.

The Drogheda girls will face unbeaten league winners Libby Dynamite from Dromiskin who deservedly beat all comers this season in the league.

Even so Sparks are capable of an upset and if things click on the day the Drogheda girls have the beating of anybody.

Last year Sparks won the equivalent competition at U14 level.

There is an added bonus for the Drogheda girls as they are at home for the Top 4 competition in Drogheda as Sparks host it at St Marys DS, Beamore Road on Saturday 28th of this month.
