Stamullen NEW ROAD

The McGarrell Reilly Group has been granted planning permission for a new road linking the area of the City North Business Campus with the Stamullen to Gormanston Road.

This new road will allow motorists from Stamullen to also gain access to the M1 motorway at junction No 7 in the vicinity of the City North Hotel and Business Campus and along with the installation of this road, a large British company, in the manufacturing of food, will also take over a new facility which is currently under construction in the location.

A number of smaller businesses and a Petrol Filling Station is also currently under construction and hopefully this latest venture by the McGarrell Reilly Group will provide some much needed employment in the locality of Stamullen and the greater east Meath area.

A number of new residential houses are also being erected adjacent to this area and, with the new road linking Stamullen village and parish directly to the M1 motorway interchange at the City North, there is but little doubt that the area of Stamullen village will continue to expand in population terms for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, the need for purchasing additional land for social and recreational amenities will hopefully bring about such facilities as we move forward with such a growing population, particularly for the children, youths and indeed the senior citizens of the surrounding area both natives and newcomers.

ACTIVELY RETIRED

The East Meath Actively Retired Association (EMARA); meet up every Thursday afternoon at the Church of Ireland Parish Rooms on the Laytown Road at Julianstown between 2.30pm and 4pm.

This very active group of senior citizens have been coming together for the past twenty years and they have recently celebrated this anniversary with a special Mass at Laytown and a function which was held at the Glenside Hotel at Smithstown.

Members of the group come from all over east Meath and indeed south Louth and the Drogheda area with many members having moved to the district over the past number of years, making this diverse group one of the most active in recreational activities around.

So, if anyone wishes to join the EMARA group, they can pop along any Thursday afternoon to the parish Rooms at Julianstown at around 2.30pm where you will be very welcome.
