THE ongoing link up between Drogheda Boys and Tottenham Hotspur rose to a new level last week at the second coaching session at DIFE, attended by London-based Spurs coaches Chris Gillman - THFC Senior Development Coach and academy coaches Aaron Cato and Aaron Tillbrook.

The two-day event began with a real treat for five young players when they were brought to a room in the college and took part in a livelink to a press conference in London with a couple of Spurs players, including South Korean international star Heung-Min Son.

Emily Flynn, Romy McAvinia, Grace Martin, Ethan Harding and Oisin Moore all got the chance to ask questions.

They then returned for a session that also included club chairman Graham Campbell, and local coaches Adam McGinn, Kian Maguire and Lauren McGinn.

‘It was brilliant,’ stated Graham.

They had 60 kids involved from 13 counties, including Cork, Donegal and Sligo.

Although the weather didn’t help initially, they got the chance to use the superb DIFE complex which was of huge benefit.

The Spurs coaches have promised to return in August for another session.

This week, the Drogheda Boys continue their assocation with the London giants when their youth team travels for a four day event that will see them play games against other academy teams and also attend the game with Man City.
