CAMPAIGN TO SAVE THE TOWN’S LAST TWO TRADITIONAL COTTAGES IN ADVANCE OF FLEADH
STRUCTURAL works on the old Thatch public house on the Donore Road will commence in May and an additional grant of €10,000 under the Government’s Built Heritage Investment Scheme on top of a grant €10,000 under the endangered buildings scheme issued in 2017 has given a huge boost of confidence to the project.
Cllr Paul Bell says the campaign to save the last two remaining thatched cottages in the town has come just in time for the thousands of visitors who will arrive for Fleadh Cheol Na hEireann in August.
