SVP shop on the move to new location to make way for council parking return

-

THE St Vincent de Paul ‘Living’ shop in Narrow West Street is to close in the coming weeks and move to a new location on the North Road.

SVP Drogheda President-elect Michael Grogan confirmed the move following recent reports that Louth County Council intends to take possession back of the previous O’Reilly’s unit. This is to facilitate the relocation of council staff from Fair St for the duration of the redevelopment of the council offices.

The new premises will be at the site of the former Malone’s Garage on the North Road, and it’s hope the move will be complete by the first week in May.

‘We have spent a very successful four years in the Narrow West Street shop, and we are very grateful to the council for facilitating us so well, but it’s time to move on,’ Mr Grogan told the Drogheda Independent.

‘It was a fantastic success for us, and we will miss the footfall, however the new premises is very large and bright, with loads of parking.’

At 6,000 square feet, the new location is smaller than the current premises, however, they are all looking forward to the move.

‘We will hold a massive sale in the old shop to make way for lots of great new furniture and items in the new place,’ he adds.
