Council taking part in public awareness event
LOUTH County Council is taking part in the #ourcouncilday Twitter campaign on Tuesday, 10th April to increase engagement with the public and to raise awareness of the services provided.
Members of the public are encouraged to join in and talk to the council about the services provided to your community using the hashtags #ourcouncilday or #ÁrLáSaChomhairle.
Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council, Cllr. Colm Markey, said; “Louth County Council uses Twitter to enhance our communication, collaboration and information exchange with members of the public, and by partaking in Twitter Day today we hope to engage with even more people and raise awareness of the many different services we provide.”
The 2017 campaign was a success nationally with a total of 1,481 accounts that contributed to over 5,000 tweets.
Local services such as transportation, housing, arts, heritage, the library services, fire service, civil defence plus many other aspects of the council were highlighted on the day.
Currently, Louth County Council has over 6,500 followers on Twitter.
