Woman (38) is directed to face trial on 34 charges

THE DPP has directed that a 38-year-old woman face trial on indictment on a total of thirty-four charges.

Gillian Curran, Marian Park, Drogheda, is accused of 21 counts of theft at Yellowbatt­er Post Office, four counts of theft at Pearse Park, Drogheda, three counts of theft at Marian Park, and a further two theft charges at Ulster Bank, Drogheda.

She is also charged with three counts of forgery at a location unknown, and another alleged forgery at the Department of Social Protection, Drogheda.

All of the offences are alleged to have occurred on 16 August, 2011.

The case was adjourned to 6 July next for a book of evidence.

The defendant was granted legal aid.
