RNLI enjoy Baltray day fundraising event
COUNTY Louth Golf Club allocated April 1st, Easter Sunday to Clogherhead Lifeboat Station for the Annual RNLI Invitation Team Event. The event was well attended and teams enjoyed a good day’s golfing in challenging weather conditions with NE wind coming in from the sea.
Clogherhead Lifeboat thanks County Louth Golf Club for making the course available free of charge on this very busy day.
We thank the teams, the sponsors Butterly Shipping, other companies, local businesses and individuals for donations of money and prizes; also a big thank-you to those who helped with organising the event and the raffle.
We also thank Lady Captain Carlos Mc Dowell and Captain Pat McCabe for their support and attendance.
Speaking at the event Aidan Sharkey thanked the main sponsor, Martin Butterly Shipping and Mark O’Reilly whose ongoing support facilitated sponsorship over the years. In turn the RNLI is grateful to Aidan for organising yet another successful event. Aidan and his family have organised this Easter Sunday event over many years, raising significant funds for Clogherhead RNLI: this year three generations of the Sharkey family were involved!
The prizes were presented by Todd O’Reilly.
