O RAGHALLAIGHS NAOMH FIONNBARRA 3-17 1-5

O Raghallaighs turned in an impressive display in the opening round of the Division 2 League to return home from Ballygassan with victory.

O Raghallighs made the better start in the first half scoring points at will and were very much in charge by the interval.

The Barrs were unlucky in the first minute as a William Woods goal effort was well saved by Joe Flanagan but the only score they managed in the half was from a Woods free.

The Drogheda men dominated midfield and made their possession count as they led by 0-10 to 0-1 at half time.

The Finbarrs upped the tempo at the start of the second half and created a goal chance straight away but Nicholas Butterly’s shot was well saved by Flanagan. Hugh Osborne did bundle the ball into the back of the O Raghallaigh’s while there were also points for Woods and Eoghan Osborne.

However, the visitors were never in any danger of letting their lead slip and they secured a comfortable victory with goals from Barry Flanagan (2) and Ben Rogan.
