Kerr goal is key

A first half goal from Conor Kerr helped Westerns to edge out Stabannon Parnells in their Division 3 opener on Sunday afternoon.

The game in Stabannon saw the visitors get off to the brighter start with points from Tommy and Anthony Durnin easing them in front before Aonghus Giggins got the Parnells off the mark after 12 minutes.

The Reaghstown side continued to have the better of things and they were two points to the good in injury time when Kerr pounced for the decisive score as he claimed the only goal of the game to send his team in leading by 1-5 to 0-3 at the break.
