Sadness at death of Mrs Mary Osborne, Dillonstow­n

THE death, which took place recently of Mrs. Mary Osborne, Dillonstow­n, Dunleer, has evoked sincere sorrow over a wide area and bereaved a widely known and respected Mid-Louth family.

Predecease­d by her husband, Mr. George Osborne, eleven years ago, the deceased, who had been ill for a short time, was a lady of quiet and very friendly dispositio­n, who never spared herself in the interests of her home and the family circle. Unobtrusiv­ely devout she led a most Christian life, her gentle manner and kindly ways winning for her a host of friends who now mourn her passing.

She is survived by her three sons, four daughters, three brothers and six sisters, to all of whom deepest sympathy is extended.

Rev. P. Kennedy, C.C., Togher, officiated at the largely attended funeral which took place on Sunday from Dillonstow­n Church to Salterstow­n Cemetery.

I (Rathgory); John (Cookspark), and James (Castletown), brothers ; Misses Julia, Brlgld, Lily and Frances Byrne (all Castletown) ; Mrs. Margaret McEvoy (do.); and Mrs. James McKeown, Seabank, Castlebell­ingham, sisters; Angela, Eliabeth and Nuala (daughters-inlaw) ; Liam Butterly (son-in-law).
