Dominican raised €6,000 for Siena
THE generosity of the people of Drogheda and the surrounding area towards the Dominican Order was very much in evidence at a big coffee morning patronised by hundreds at St. Magdalen’s Priory in aid of the local Siena Convent.
It was disclosed that the coffee morning had raised £6,000 and a similar sum had been sent in by way of private donation since the launch of a big appeal at Easter.
The appeal focussed on the diffículties faced by the Mother Prioress and community of the Siena Convent, Chord Road, following the painting and decorating of the chapel there and the dry rot discovered in parts of the convent.
