- By ALISON COMYN

THERE will be no end of family fun at this year’s Drogheda Arts Festival which takes place from May 1st to May 7th!

The free family fun event on Saturday 5th promises to be bigger and better than ever.

“Starting at 12.30 and running until 5pm, the event at St Dominic’s Park will include circus acts, kids’ comedy and imagination building blocks”, explains co-chair of the Festival, Elaine Cronin. “It will be a feast of colour, activity, fun and a great free day out for kids and grown-ups alike”.

“We are thrilled to announce the return of Drogheda Arts Festival at Beaulieu on bank holiday Monday. With more acts and activities than before, including live music on the woodland stage, acoustic gigs in the chapel, ballet in the garden, and traditional games on the lawn”, adds her co-chair Collette Farrell. “There will be a feast of food and music in the quadrangle with brass bands and DJs and delicious tea and buns. Don’t miss The Cottage Market Beaulieu with treats and gifts for all ages.”

Other family-friendly events during the Drogheda Arts Festival include SongTrail, a walking tour of Drogheda celebrating music and stories and Zoe Conway and John McIntyre will perform a fabulous teatime concert in Gerrard’s Church on Mary Street featuring trad music with a jazz, classical and world music mixed in.

“Follow Drogheda Arts Festival on Facebook and Twitter and book your tickets on www.DroghedaArtsFestival. ie”, concludes Elaine.
