Secondary school for Duleek needed

-

FOLLOWING the announcement of a new Secondary School for the Drogheda/East Meath area, Cllr Stephen McKee is calling on the Government to strongly consider Duleek as an ideal location for the new secondary school to serve the growing needs of the area.

McKee stated: ‘With the opening of our new Boys & Girls National Schools in Duleek, it is the right time to now press for a secondary school for the area. With over 700 pupils attending Duleek National Schools, there is certainly a strong case for it based on numbers. A Secondary School would also be of huge social and economic benefit to the area. There are also a number of potential feeder schools in Donore, Bellewstown and Julianstown.’

‘I am working with my colleague and Fianna Fail Education Spokesperson Thomas Byrne TD to progress this and I have made a submission to the Department making the case for a Secondary School in Duleek.’
