Listoke to open Galway gin school

-

IRISH gin producers want to treble sales by 2022, with the aim to sell 5 million bottles or 400,000 9-litre cases around the world, according to the Irish Spirits Association (ISA). The ISA has launched a Strategy for Irish Gin 2018-2022, which aims to promote the worldwide growth of Irish gin over the next five years by developing world-leading standards for quality and authenticity.

Gin producers from Louth that are involved include Boann Distillery and Listoke Distillery.

Bronagh Conlon (pictured), Managing Director of Listoke Distillery & Gin School in Louth said: “In addition to the wealth of new gins on the market there has also been an increase in gin related visitor attractions and this strategy will ensure this trend continues. We operate the Listoke Gin School at our site in Drogheda and will be opening another gin school in Galway later this year.”

The new strategy identifies the main target markets for Irish gin. While Ireland will remain the most important market, Irish Gin producers have identified the UK, Spain, Germany, the USA and Canada as the priority export markets.
