James is one of five winners in Texaco Art
DROGHEDA always fares very well when it comes to the annual Texaco Children’s Art Competition and this year is no different.
Five local students are among seven Louth winners to win top prizes in this the 64th year of the nationwide competition.
In Category G of the Competition, second prize (€300) went to James Moonan (12), from The Arthouse, Drogheda, for his work entitled ‘Hens On The Farm’.
Other winners from Drogheda, all of whom will receive a Special Merit Award, are Isabelle Parle (12), from Ballymakenny College, and Emilija Kiazmovaite (11), Hannah Adams (10), and Elsa Brennan (6), all from The Arthouse.
Other Louth winners are Bella Reynolds (6), from Scoil Dairbhre, Dundalk, who won third prize (€100) in the 6-years and under age category and Cara Pilbeam (15), from St. Vincent’s Secondary School, Dundalk, who won a Special Merit Award.
Prizes will be presented at an awards ceremony in Dublin next month when all of the 126 top prize-winners will be in attendance.
