Look out for upcoming summer events in aid of the fund including a “Camino de St.Marys” , an evening walk on the history of the local ecclesiastical sites of St.Mary’s Parish in the company of the brilliant local historian, Mr. Brendan Matthews from the Millmount Centre.

Brendan plans to start the Camino walk n’talk tour of St. Mary`s Parish starting at the Church in James’ Street and then heading down to Scotch Hall, Marsh Road and into the Dale, with access under the old Dublin Road. They then stop off at the historically significant St. Mary`s Church at the top of Mary St., where there is still a remnant of the old Medieval Catholic Church. The tour could finish at the Old Hill/ Pitcher Hill area across from Millmount. It’s anticipated the “Camino de St.Marys” would take about 80 minutes or so, depending on the weather and numbers who may come along.
