FREDERICK Ralph Byrom was a Drogheda man, who lived in Macclesfie­ld, Cheshire.

He was killed almost 100 years ago while serving in World War I, April 28, 1918 in France, having enlisted in London.

He was with the Labour Corps and was 46. He worked as a grocer in Macclesfie­ld and lived on the High Street, at Number 172.

He was married to Alice and they had three children, Gerald, Constance and Reginald.
