ROSS Nally turned in a superb display to help Newtown Blues move top of the Division 1 table with their third successive victory.

The county champions found themselves in relegation trouble last season after a slow start but appear determined not to fall into that trap this year as they proved too strong for the Marys.

Nally was in fine form for the winners has he bagged a total of 2-8 to help his side to an eight point win.

The full forward’s first goal came from the penalty spot and by the time the half time whistle sounded he had 1-6 to his credit as the Blues led by 1-13 to 0-5.
