Lennon on target

-

KILKERLEY EMMETS GLYDE RANGERS 1-15 0-7

SHANE Lennon scored 1-8 as Kilkerley Emmets collected their second win of the Division 2 season.

The visitors worked hard in the first half against the wind to restrict Glyde in front of the posts before dominating the second period to deservedly return home with the points in the bag and leave the Tallanstown side still without a point at the foot of the table.

Lennon put the Emmets into an early lead with three points (two frees) before Brian Duffy put over a free for Glyde. Lennon hit another brace with Devlin scoring one in between and then followed by one from Trevor O’Brien. Sean Hand pointed before Duffy closed the half with two points from frees to cut the gap to 0-6 to 0-5.

M ark Brennan levelled the score with the first point of the second half but that was as good as it got for the home team as Lennon’s goal saw the Emmets reply with 1-9 before Ciaran Sheridan kicked the last point of the match. Tadgh McEneaney, Lennon, Conal McEneaney (45), Ciaran McGlynn, and Dan McKeown, were all on target in the second half to help clinch a convincing victory.
