92 homes planned on site of the former Bridgeford Leisure Centre
A planning application for 92 new homes on the former Bridgeford site at Newfoundwell has been lodged with Louth County Council.
The residential units will comprise five duplexes (4 no. 2-bed and 1 no. 3-bed), 44 houses (26 no. 2-bed and 18 no. 3-bed) and 43 apartments ( 15 no. 1-bed and 28 no. 2-bed).
It is planned the existing site entrance will be closed and a new ‘multi-modal’ entrance created onto the Newfoundwell road.
There will be pedestrian and cyclist entrances onto Newfoundwell Road and Bredin Street with landscaping, substation and all other ancillary site development works including lighting, boundary treatments and services.
The northern boundary includes a protected structure (identified as a well) to which no works are proposed.
The site is bound by the Newfoundwell Road and Bredin Street and it’s adjacent to the Dublin-Belfast railway line and existing residences at Bredin Street and Newfoundwell Road.
There are also plans for eight new residential units at Rivercourt on the Rathmullen Road.
Permission is sought for two 3-storey residential blocks, containing eight dwelling units as follows; four 2-bedroom ground floor units and four 3-bedroom duplex units over.
