Funding vital says Mayor

THE Mayor of Drogheda says these jobs are good news for the town in many ways, but investment in infrastructure is needed to ensure continued growth in the region.

‘ These are high-tech, well paid jobs and the industry they’re in is a growth industry so hopefully that bodes well for the town,’ said Cllr Pio Smith at Wednesday’s announcement.

‘However, we need investment in terms of infrastructure, as Dundalk has been the premier town for infrastructure over the past 25 years, and Drogheda and its surrounds have been playing catch up for years.’
