NA PIARSAIGH WESTERNS 1-14 1-11

NA Piarsaigh recovered from their midweek loss to Young Irelands with a three-point win over Westerns at the Rock Road.

The Westerns took the lead on four occasions in the opening quarter, but each time Na Piarsaigh hit back.

However, the hosts got on top in the second quarter and a goal from Robbie Murphy helped them take a 1-7 to 0-6 lead into the break.

Scores from Ciaran Murphy, Robbie Murphy and McAuley early in the second half saw the Dundalk side stretch their lead. The Westerns hit back and points from Ciaran Campbell and Dylan Ogle were followed by a goal from Durnin’s penalty on 20 minute. However, three late points from Mark Larkin settled the nerves for Na Piarsaigh as they held out.
