Skills competitio­n goes down a treat

A GROUP of enthusiast­ic under-10 bowlers took to the mats at Greenhills over the last four weeks to play in the creative skills league competitio­n.

Juvenile officer Tom Devin revealed that the youngsters are showing great potential and he was delighted with their performanc­e throughout the league.

In first place was Chloe Dykstra, ahead of Robert McCormack in second and Jane Whelan in third.

The chairman Jack Howell congratula­ted the juniors on a fine display of bowling and offered a big thanks to the umpires and to Mick Toner for taking the time out to present the prizes.

Elsewhere Ciara Floyd reached the semi-finals of the Cooley open singles.

Congratula­tions to Caitlin Floyd on making her confirmati­on.

Times of play: Juveniles - Tuesday 7-8:15 pm; Seniors - Tuesday and Thursday 8.1510:30pm.
