Donal Kinsella leads the charge
March 1982
THE veterans of Drogheda rugby club could be the only side to win a trophy for the Boyneside club this season. And last Sunday they went closer to achieving that feat when they defeated Kilkenny by two tries to one in the quarter final stages of the Dunne Cup.
Led by former club skipper, Donal Kinsella, (right) Drogheda played a magnificent game.
Peter Collier at full back opened the scoring when he scored a spectacular try in the first half. Seamus Davis got the second for Drogheda after some powerful rucking from the pack. Best for Drogheda were Richie Skelly, Ged Campbell, Noel Carr and Dave Lyons.
