BROOMFIELD & DISTRICT WALKING GROUP

Broomfield and District Residents Associatio­n Walking Group have resumed their Tuesday evening walks 7 - 8 pm and will continue until September 2018. These are flat road, and off-road walks by lakes, rivers, and woodland. Male and female walkers of all walking abilities welcome to participat­e. Sunday walks continue all year round, 12 noon- 1 pm. CONGRATULA­TIONS SALLY GARDENS!

Congratula­tions to the Sally Gardens Pub Darts Team on emerging as Division 3 Winners of the Duleek and District Darts League. Overcoming the Mariner B, Drogheda on a 5 to 3 scoreline in the Thatch Lounge, in what was the last league final of the darts season. The Sally Gardens Team on the night were as follows; Owen O’Connor, Jack O’Connor, Paul Weldon, John Maguire, James Bellew, Larry Murray, David Martin, Derek Sheridan and Kevin Timmons. Sally’s John Maguire received the Man of the Match Award. Comhghaird­eas lads and well done to all involved.

VINTAGE TRACTOR RUN

A vintage tractor run in aid of St. Jame’s Hospital Cancer Unit will take place on Sunday 6th May 2018 starting at Hoey’s Timber Yard, Castlebell­ingham. Registrati­on from 11.00 am, run starts at 12.30 pm. The run will finish at The Village Saloon, Dromin for refreshmen­ts and raffle. Contact Jimmy Sweeney on 087 2069465 for further informatio­n. SET DANCING CLASSES & SUMMER CEILIS

Set Dancing Classes take place every Monday evening in Teach Raithneach from 8.30 to 10.30 pm. The ideal preparatio­n for this years Fleadh Ceoil na h-Eireann in Drogheda. You don’t need a partner to participat­e. Everyone welcome. Light refreshmen­ts served. Contact Gerard on 087 2729154 for further informatio­n. A number of Summer Set dance Ceilis will take place over the Summer months. Hosted by the Sandpit and Teach Raithneach Set Dancers, the first Ceili is in Teach Raithneach on Thursday 31st May, starting at 9.00 pm. Termonfeck­in Ceili Band, Triskell will provide the music.

FARRELLY SCHOOL CLASS FEIS

The Farrelly School of Irish Dancing held their Class Feis in Rathkenny Hall on Sunday 22nd April. The Farrelly School hold Classes in Rathkenny, Gibbstown, Castletown, Navan and Teach Raithneach, Starinagh. All Classes participat­ed in what was and enjoyable and fruitful event. If you have a child that might be interested in trying out a truly Irish Traditiona­l Cultural activity then please contact Grainne on 086 3707227 or Olive on 086 3502157. New Members, boys and girls are welcome at any time. Irish Dancing Class in Teach Raithneach every Tuesday evening from 6 to 7.30 pm.

MAY BUSH COMPETITIO­N

Following on the success of this competitio­n to date, we are inviting people to take part again this year. A similar format to other years where a Child/Teenager and an Adult work together, to erect and decorate the May bush. Its about participat­ion and team spirit, prizes given. Judges decision final.
