POST OFFICE

There has been some uncertainty recently regarding the future of Irish Post Offices. An Post was looking to reduce the number of Post Offices nationwide by offering voluntary redundancies. Termonfeckin Post Office has not been offered one of these redundancy packages which means it will continue to operate. From Postmaster Gerry Finnegan and the staff, thank you to all those who use it.

ABACAS FUNDRAISER

It is fitting we acknowledge a young local lad Peter Browne from Banktown who has undertaken a fundraising challenge for the Abacas School for Children with Autism in Drogheda.

Peter commenced this challenge at the Goal Mile in St. Fechins over last Christmas. Since then he has run a minimum of one mile per day and will continue to do so for the whole year. The challenge will finish at this year’s Goal Mile on December 26th.

Peter has been inspired by witnessing first-hand the difference that early intervention can make in a child with autism’s life through his cousin Oisín. He passionately believes that the work in the Abacas School is vital for helping other children with autism to develop and give them every chance in life. So please help him raise much needed funds for this wonderful School over the next calendar year and beyond as he runs the roads of Termonfeckin parish. All donations no matter how big or small will be welcomed.

You can view his progress on facebook page Miles For Aabacas. Peter is a son of John and Paula Browne (nee Carroll). We wish you every success with this challenge Peter.
