Come along to our open evening this Thursday

THE newly opened Aston Village Pharmacy will offer a thoroughly modern service in a very traditional setting.

Husband and wife team John and Eve-Anna Tunney are looking forward to welcoming new customers to the chemist, which has opened ahead of schedule to coincide with the neighbouring GP surgery.

“It will be handy for people who have just been to the GP (Dr Maria Gabriella Murillo), to pop into us and have their prescription filled,” explains Eve-Anna, who grew up as a Cooney in Drogheda.

Eve-Anna says they have gone a little ‘old school’ with their style, harking back to the old apothecary-style chemists of years gone by.

‘Some of our older customers might remember when pharmacies weren’t white and clinical, and we have gone for the more traditional style, with wonderful dark wood shelving to create a warm inviting pharmacy” she says.

“But we will have everything you could want in a chemist, from all the usual regulars and tried and trusted brands, to some brands unique to us.’

They carry a huge stock of skincare, sun and haircare, vitamins, herbal remedies, healthy treats, a large first aid section, expanded dental section, private consultation room and pet section.

“Our makeup brands are Flormar, Revolution and I Heart Make-up,’ she adds. “We saw a real need for a pharmacy in Aston Village, and we look forward to serving the local community as well as Drogheda, Termonfeckin, Sandpit and beyond.’

The shop will be open from 8.45am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, so they can be home in time to read bedtime stories to their four young children!

“We will also open Saturdays between 10am and 5pm, and would like to invite everyone to an open evening this Thursday May 10th between 3pm and 8pm, to meet us all, and maybe win some hampers full of goodies!
