Wee County girls put it up to Wicklow

-

LOUTH Under-16s now turn their attentions to the summer inter-county round robin league after putting it up to Wicklow at the Leinster Finals in glorious Portlaoise on Sunday.

On one of the warmest days of the year so far, Louth - featuring players from St Anne’s, St Bride’s, St Kevin’s, Mattock Rangers and Blackrock started well with their now customary energy and pace.

They played extremely well in the first half, at the end of which the scores were still fairly close, but Wicklow put them under some pressure in the second period and went on to record a strong victory in the end.

Meanwhile, Louth Under-14s themselves travel to Portlaoise next Sunday for their first outing in 2018, with the senior ladies taking on Wicklow in the Junior final on Saturday 26th.
