Tierney leads way for Duleek

-

OVER recent years the historic town of Drogheda has become famous over the May Bank Holiday Sunday for one thing - the Drogheda 10K road race.

As the Supreme Clean Captain’s League continues, 47 athletes from Duleek & District AC were out in force for the race and with the streets lined with supporters Gary Tierney led the way home for the club, setting a PB for good measure.

Fran Power was second home for the club and followed by Daragh Sculley, while Olive Reilly and Lorraine Noone were the first two ladies from Duleek & District to finish.

Training is clearly paying off for David Lynskey as he too set a PB on what is a tough course, while the streets of London didn’t take its toll too much on Derek Reilly as he was back in action at the Boyne 10K following the marathon across the water.
