Open day at Listoke for the Legion
MR and Mrs. H. W. Nicholson of Listoke have announced that the gardens of their home will be open to the public this Sun. (26th) in aid of the Drogheda branch of the Women’s Section, British Legion.
The widows of all ex-British Servicemen will be brought there by coach in the afternoon and the official opening ceremony will be performed by Lady Gilchrist, wife of the British Ambassador, at 3.15 p.m.
During the course of the afternoon various raffles etc. will take place and tea and refreshments will be served. There will be facilities provided for playing croquet and clock-golf not to mention the many beautiful walks throughout these gracious gardens. All visitors are welcome and the gates will be open from 2.30 until 5.30. The proceeds of the day will go to above mentioned charity.
