Volunteers needed to be guides for St Peter’s church

-

THE remarkable story of St Peter’s Church on West Street will be told to thousands of visitors in August as part of the Fleadh.

And you can play your part in the story!

Voluntary tour guides are needed by St Peter’s from August 12-22nd with those involved receiving full training.

Designed by J. O’Neill and W.H. Byrne and built in the French Gothic style in 1884, the Church is famed for being home to the head of martyred saint, Oliver Plunkett.

He was executed at Tyburn Hill in London.

As well as the story of St Oliver, the church features numerous other tales, including a section of painting near the altar, carried out by a Belgian firm around the time of the First World War and how one painter never returned to complete his section.....

We will create a learning platform for you in order to become a guide. You will receive a certificate of excellence having completed your training,’ a spokesperson stated.

Please apply giving your availability (times 12 noon to 8 pm, 12th to 22nd August 2018) to email: fleadh@saintpetersdrogheda.ie
