In court on cycle charge
GARY Kelly (23), 229 Moneymore, The Twenties, has been fined €200 for riding a pedal cycle without reasonable consideration.
A second charge of driving along or across a footway was taken into account.
Garda Conor Boyle gave evidence that on 11 May, 2017, in Moneymore, the defendant was abusive, telling him ‘go f *** yourself ’.
He cycled in front of the patrol car, blocking the vehicle from moving, and then cycled on the footpath.
Kelly was wearing neither a helmet or reflective gear. Solicitor Dermot Monahan said his client has problems with intoxicants. He is on €188 social welfare per-week.
Kelly was given legal aid.
