Buy mortuary slab used in ‘Ripper Street’

-

WELL-KNOWN antique auctioneers Matthews of Oldcastle conduct one of the biggest auctions of architectural salvage ever seen in Ireland next weekend.

To be held over four days, beginning Friday May 18th through to Monday 21st May, the event comprises over 4,000 lots diligently gathered by the vendor over the past twenty years.

This extraordinarily eclectic dispersal includes not just antique building materials and stonework, etc. but other oddities such as the mortuary slab from the successful television series Ripper Street and an Elaborate Edwardian theatre ticket kiosk. The list is practically endless!

The auction follows the development of the owners film prop hire business and the recent signing of a long-term contract as agent to a major Hollywood studio. While there are thousands of mainly architectural salvage items to be deaccessioned there is also an a large collection of furnishing antiques & fittings to be sold that are no longer required by this newly focused business.

Due to the nature of the auction the auctioneer states that transport of all items can be arranged nationwide and beyond with their in-house carrier. Also, due to the quantities and lotting restrictions, public viewing of this clearance auction is highly recommended. Viewing times and the illustrated catalogue is available to view on the auctioneer’s website, www.matthewsauctionrooms.com.

INSET: a revolving door is up for grabs
