Celebrating 25 years of local smiles

-

WELLINGTON Quay Dental Centre is celebrating 25 years serving the people of Drogheda, with all their oral care needs.

In that quarter of a century, the practice has gone from strength to strength, expanding in size, and able to cater for whatever demands the modern customer may have.

Cork native Cormac Reynolds took over the practice from Des Gogarty in 1993, but says Drogheda is well and truly his home now!

“The people of Drogheda have been great over the years, and we are all very thankful for such loyal customers, and making me feel so welcome,” he says.

“I didn’t know this part of the country very well before we moved, however, I instantly clicked with Des when we met, and now I feel like a local!”

Cormac graduated from the Cork University Dental School in 1985 and worked in the UK before taking over Wellington Quay Dental Centre in 1993. He has studied Complete Dentistry at the Dawson Institute – a comprehensive, individual approach to each patient’s dental care.

“When I started there was just two of us, but as the business grew, we took over the downstairs part of the building as well as upstairs, and now we have two dentists, two hygienists, an orthodontist and an oral surgeon.”

Cormac and his team can now offer patients a complete service when it comes to oral care and have moved with the times and the new techniques over the years.

“Technology has improved, and along with basic dental needs, we also offer the likes of teeth-whitening, implants, braces, dentures, bonding and more,” he says.

“People have become more aware of their appearance now and we even offer services like Botox injections and fillers to complement the dental work.”

One thing that hasn’t changed over the years is how nervous people get when thinking of climbing into the dentist’s chair, but to reduce your anxiety before and during dental treatment, he now offers dental hypnosis, a highly effective treatment, successfully used by thousands of dentists world-wide

“Our main goal is to make people feel at their ease, and we’re big on painless injections and helping people relax,” he adds.

“I have trained in hypnosis so when people come to me, not only will they get the best results, but it will be as painless as possible too.”
