Beechgrove station is 50 years old

-

SOMETHING I didn’t know and I wonder do the present owners intend marking the occasion. The Beechgrove Service Station was 50 years old last week.

Mr. John O’Connell opened up the new premises and Mayor Patrick Carr was on hand to cut the ribbon.

Among the attendance at the opening ceremony were Mr Gerry McNamara, Sales Director and Deputy Managing Director, Arrow Oil Division; Mr. Brian Mitchell, Area Sales Representative, and Mr. John Gill Technical Adviser.

The new station was yet another Arrow garage.

Mr O’Connell was a businessman who had a long and varied experience in motor engineering and the motor trade in general.

To convenience both the early morning and late night motorists alike, Mr. O’Connell arranged a day-long service from 8 a.m. to 10.30 p.m.—-and on all seven days of the week.
